Katvig
For the love of earth!

The story of Katvig started in spring 2003, with an old, faded duvet cover in an attic. Katrine Collette and Vigga Svensson fell in love with the pattern and the colours. It was beautiful and smart. They took it home, redesigned it and the Katvig logo was born.

The creative team was further inspired by the 70s’ uncomplicated aesthetics,  and stripes became a recurrent feature of their collections, as well as their signature apple print, featured in all the imaginable colours, prints, shapes, and sizes.

Katvig is an organic children’s fashion clothing company with a holistic outlook on life, which puts up a fight to set new standards for what children and nature should be exposed to. Katvig was one of the first companies to hire a ‘sustainability manager’ to oversee all products from factory to store, to ensure that the whole production process is as sustainable as possible. Today, about 80% of their activities are controlled and certified by third parties, from waste-water to transport to the stores, which is absolutely exceptional. Their goal is to achieve the magic 100%. In addition, all their clothes are, as a minimum, tested to the Ecotex 100 standard, a test for harmful substances to make sure that no child will be hurt by wearing the clothes. 

The overall aim for Katvig, politically as well, is that everyone involved in the production, from the cotton field to the workshop, must feel as content as a newborn child. Nothing in the production chain must ruin the opportunities of the next generation – that would be too high a price to pay.
