Fabric: Fur

Fur is a synonym for animal hair. In clothing, fur is leather/pelts with the hair still attached, with high insulating properties. It may be dyed, or shorn down to imitate the feel of a soft velvet fabric. Usual animal sources include fox, rabbit, mink, beavers, ermine, otters, sable, seals, cats, dogs, coyotes, chinchilla, and possum. In contrast, leather is only the skin of the animal.

Irreversible changes must be expected if an iron is used.

No professional dry-cleaning allowed. Do not use stain removers which contain solvents.
